Product Description

JACTON offers mechanical lift worm gear screw jack design screw jack for sluice gate, knife gate valves, penstocks, slide gates, dampers and valves. A penstock is used for controlling the flow or level of a liquid and consists of a sliding door controlled by a mechanically operated spindle that moves over an aperture in a frame which in turn is secured onto a structure. Penstocks have several applications in arresting and controlling the liquid flow. They are used on Waterways, Power plants, Industrial effluent plants, Drainage and Flood control as well as being used in large numbers on water, wastewater and sewage treatment plants. Penstocks, unlike valves, are normally fitted into or onto the civil structure framework either in channels or over an aperture in a wall. The channels and apertures are sized to accept a range of flow situations and the penstocks are required to suit. This requirement alone dictates that they are a bespoke product.

How Screw Jacks Work?
Main components of screw jacks are trapezoidal lifting screw, worm screw, worm gear and gear housing. Worm screw is rotated manually or by motor. Worm gear is rotated by worm screw. The lifting screw moves through the rotating worm gear. The linear motion speed of lifting screw depends on thread size and rotation ratio of worm gears.

Sluice Gate Screw Jacks Features:
1. Inverted type, screw translating type, clevis end or top plate, with a protective tube.
2. Standard lift screw is a self locking ACME screw with C45 steel material. Optional stainless steel screw. 
3. Worm gear screw jacks can be used as either single drive units or multi lifting systems as per the weight and sizes of the gate.
4. Screw jacks can be manually operated, or motorized.

Screw jacks are suited for lifting, lowering, pushing, pulling and pressing. They can be operated manually or by electric, hydraulic or pneumatic motor.
Stainless Steel Machine Screw Jacks are ideal for use in demanding environments where corrosion resistance is required. All external components are manufactured from 300 series Stainless Steel materials. These jacks use a stainless steel worm with a high strength bronze drive sleeve.
Optional screw end adapters are available for screw jacks. Choose a top plate or clevis end to meet your application requirements. Top Plate Screw End Adapters offer a perpendicular mounting surface to easily connect to your structure. Standard mounting holes assure a secure bolted connection. Clevis Screw End Adapter allows for a pinned, pivoting application.
